'ue' sound and the 'ine' as short sounds

-ue   and words where 'i' is treated differently.

 A word cannot end a word with ‘u’

There are three groups of words in this  list:

1. words connected to 'q'

2. words related to the 'g' sound.

3. Words related to the long vowel sound.

4. Words using the letter 'q'  which is usually followed by the letter 'u'.

Words related to the 'g' 

When an 'e, follows  a 'g' it changes the sound to a 'j' sound. To  avoid this, we insert an'u'  before the 'e'
